Taiz city authorities forcibly dismantle sit-in camps
Yemen
Yamanat – Taiz
On Thursday, December 18, 2025 afternoon, Taiz City security authorities forcefully uprooted protesters’ tents in front of the Taiz Governorate Office.
Local sources reported that a police force arrived and deployed around the sit-in camps, and that a number of soldiers began dismantling the tents under threat of gunfire.
The dismantling of the camps took place after an explosive device exploded at the entrance leading to the headquarters of the Yemeni Islah party on Jamal Street, killing 10 people, including two dead.
Observers believe that local authorities and security authorities took advantage of the bombing to eliminate sit-in camps demanding justice for martyr Efthan Al-Mashahri and victims of organized massacres carried out by elements affiliated with military and security units.
